🎉 Bank Holiday Weekend at Halsey Hall – A Celebration to Remember!

This past Bank Holiday weekend was one for the books here at Halsey Hall. Across three incredible days, we welcomed over 700 guests through our doors, shared in laughter, music, and community, and made some truly special memories. Here's a look back at everything we packed into the weekend:

🎱 Friday Night Bingo – A Great Start to the Weekend

We kicked off the weekend on Friday evening with a lively Bingo Night. With 50 people in attendance, the atmosphere was buzzing from the very first number called. There was plenty of laughter, a healthy bit of competition, and a lot of fun shared around the room.

The top prize of £200 was enough to make one lucky winner’s weekend – and the rest of us left with smiles on our faces. A brilliant way to get the weekend started!

🎤 Saturday – Dancing Queens Take Over Halsey Hall

Saturday brought something truly special – our first ever ABBA Tribute Night, and what a night it was! We welcomed 110 guests into the Hall, all ready to sing, dance, and relive the magic of Sweden’s greatest pop group.

Guests were treated to a buffet dinner, and as the music began, the Hall came alive. One guest summed it up perfectly:“If you closed your eyes, you would believe it was the real ABBA.”

From start to finish, the energy was electric, and the dance floor stayed full all night. Without a doubt, this will go down as one of the best nights we’ve ever hosted. Thank you to everyone who came along – we hope you had as much fun as we did!

🇬🇧 Monday – VE Day 80th Anniversary Celebrations

Monday 5th May marked a particularly meaningful occasion as we commemorated the 80th anniversary of VE Day. Although the weather didn’t cooperate, we quickly brought the festivities indoors to the Main Hall, where we transformed the space with theatre-style seating at the front and long communal tables behind.

The entertainment was truly the heart of the day. We welcomed the fantastic London Belles, a three-girl harmony group singing nostalgic songs from the 1940s, and Gemma, whose heartfelt wartime melodies had the audience waving flags and singing along. The atmosphere was warm, moving, and full of community spirit.

Outside, our food trucks offered delicious choices from around the world, and throughout the day, we welcomed over 600 guests – many of whom fully embraced the theme in 1940s outfits and soldier hats. The Halsey Hall Bar even created a special Union Jack cocktail, which quickly became the drink of the day.

We’re also proud to share that we raised £1,100 through our raffle, which will be donated to The Royal British Legion and a Masonic charity – thank you to everyone who contributed!

☕ Halsey Hall Café – Now Open!

As if the day wasn’t special enough, Monday also marked the grand opening of the Halsey Hall Café! Now open daily from 8am–4pm, the café will be serving up fresh food, hot drinks, and sweet treats to keep you going throughout the day. Whether you're attending an event or just passing by, pop in and say hello – we can’t wait to welcome you.

Thank You!

A huge thank you to everyone who attended our events over the weekend. Whether you came for the bingo, danced the night away at the ABBA night, or joined us in remembering VE Day – you made it all unforgettable.

We’ve got plenty more exciting events coming soon, so keep an eye on our website and socials – and don’t forget to visit the café!
